PPI China 2008 and First PPI China Conference for Innovative Food Technology Closes with Great Success

On May 21, 2008, the PPI China closed doors after three days of successful business exchange. The international fair for the food and drink processing and packaging industry took place from May 19 – 21, 2008 at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou and was organised by BMC Zhenwei, a subsidiary of Business Media China AG.

In its fifth edition, the PPI China introduced a refined exhibition and conference concept, implementing a concentration on processing and packaging technologies and setting high-quality exhibition standards. Among the more than 250 exhibitors, global players like Sidel Group, Heuft Systemtechnik, Schneider-Electric, Yuedong, and Tech-Long Packaging Machinery presented the latest international technology solutions on an area of more than 6,000 sqm. The number of trade visitors reached 7,500 this year.

Concurrently to the exhibition, the first PPI China Conference for Innovative Food Technology was held from May 19 – 20, 2008 with great success. Chinese and international experts from companies like Siemens, ABB, Sidel Group, and Schneider Electric presented insights into technological innovations of international market leaders. The PPI Conference attracted an audience of more than 150 engineers from South China’s food and drink industries.

Klaus M. Hilligardt, Chief Executive Officer of BMC AG, evaluated the results of the PPI China 2008 as very successful: “The concentration on food and beverage processing and packaging technology as well as the introduction of the PPI China Conference enhanced the quality of the event decisively. We were able to introduce the PPI China as the largest meeting point of international market leaders and trend-setters in South China.”

For the upcoming event in 2009, the organiser expects the attendance of 400 exhibitors and 12,000 visitors. The PPI China Conference for Innovative Food Technology will be continued in 2009 and will attract the opinion leaders and decision makers for technology investments in the processing and packaging industries.
