Guangzhou/Stuttgart July 24, 2007. From May 29th – 31st, 2007, the 4th PPI+FDC China proved its position as most vivid meeting point for the food and drink related market in South China. After closing the doors at the top class, modern Guangzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center on May 31st, the organizers of the event announced that the growing trend of last year continued in 2007. The trade fair is organised by the German media company Business Media China AG and its Chinese partner BMC Zhenwei, a partnership that joins exhibition experience of more than 30 years.
During the three days, 327 exhibitors from 13 countries exhibited their products and innovations on a net exhibition area of 6,118 sqm which corresponds with a growth rate of 20% compared to 2006. Including more than 550 international guests, the number of professional visitors rose by 70% up to 9,247 and guaranteed a lively business exchange and fertile commerce.
Klaus M. Hilligardt, Chief Executive Officer of BMC AG expressed his satisfaction with the results of the PPI+FDC China 2007: “With the development of the two last years, we were able to enhance the position as number one event for the food and drink industry in South China. For the next year, we expect that the exhibition will approach the goal of becoming one of the main events in the national food market, focusing on processing and packaging technology.”
As more than 10% of the national food and drink products are manufactured in Guangdong, the 4th PPI+FDC China invited the food and drink processing and packaging industry to exhibit their products in the centre of Chinas foodstuff market. The food sector in Guangdong province has an above average growth rate of 25% p.a. and its output is worth in excess of US$ 15 billion p.a.
The 4th PPI+FDC China 2007 was strongly supported by industry associations such as the China Food Industry Association, the Guangdong Packaging Technology Association, the Guangdong Food & Packaging Machinery Industry Association and others.
For the upcoming event in 2008 the organizer expects the attendance of over 500 exhibitors and 12 000 visitors. Furthermore, the organisers announced that from 2008 on a two-day conference on food and drink technology will be created. This high level meeting point will attract the opinion-leaders and decision-makers for technology investments in the food industry. Speakers will mostly come from international key players of the industry, leading research centers and trade associations.
